Shielded Labs
En uavhengig Zcash-organisasjon
"oppsummert, Tachyon = Zcash-lommebøker som beviser seg selv, validatorer som beskjærer historien og skjermet UX som til slutt skalerer. Det er slik private penger blir mainstream.»

I promised deets on Tachyon, so here we go for those that care. And yes, it really is as wild as the first impression, but the magic isn’t just faster proving, it’s how Tachyon re-architects syncing and verification so private money can *actually scale.
In today’s @Zcash, every wallet has to trial-decrypt every shielded transaction just to know if a note belongs to you. and obviously as usage grows, wallets slow down, nodes carry ever more history, and syncing feels painful. plus the paradox is brutal: the more people use shielded transactions, the worse the UX gets.
The proposed breakthrough by @ebfull is using Proof-Carrying Data (PCD) with Halo recursion. Wallets now carry cryptographic proofs of their own state, updating them as you transact. ergo when you spend, you include that proof; and nodes just verify the latest one instead of replaying your full history. flipping the model: the wallet becomes a self-proving machine, while validators prune old state aggressively. the effect is that throughput scales up without bloating the network.
Tachyon also redesigns nullifiers, the *markers that prevent double spends so that an “oblivious sync service” can update your wallet without knowing which notes are yours or where they sit in the accumulator. In other words, you can let a service keep you in sync without leaking your identity or spending patterns. imo that’s a big win for mobile wallets like @zashi_app on becoming even lighter, responsive, and still private.
On Aggregation and pruning, with recursive proofs, multiple Orchard transactions can be aggregated into one succinct proof and Validators verify that single proof and prune away most old state, keeping just the latest nullifiers and commitments. Instead of blocks verifying as piles of individual proofs, they collapse into one, cutting contention and unlocking room for bigger shielded pools. Lower validator costs, stronger anonymity, healthier growth.
Why this fucking matters: Tachyon doesn’t just tweak prover speed, it attacks the systemic bottlenecks: synchronization, storage, verification. Wallet lag disappears, shielded throughput jumps, mobile UX improves, and the shielded pool gets deeper because using ZEC privately is no longer a chore. This is exactly the type of leap that makes private money usable at internet scale.
in summary, Tachyon = Zcash wallets that prove themselves, validators that prune history, and shielded UX that finally scales. This is how private money goes mainstream.
