Today, our new product FlowSpeech is officially launched.
FlowSpeech is the world's first TTS that converts written language to spoken language.
It can read web pages, narrate novels, present PowerPoint slides, and even translate foreign languages.
It is your AI mouthpiece, ready to speak for you at any time.
This may not sound groundbreaking, but it is a useful little product based on the real pain points of our actual users.
Why, when the industry is all about hype, chasing models, and competing with Agents,
did we choose to spend some time creating such a small product?
As an AI application company, we certainly hope to become a unicorn in the sky.
But the essence of making products is to help real people, one by one.
The demand for FlowSpeech came from an 80-year-old American man, and this is his story. 👇
Why create such a product? Let me share a true story with you.
After ListenHub launched in May, we quickly gained ten thousand registered users.
Among all the users, the oldest one is an elderly man from the United States.
One day, he saw ListenHub online but wasn't very familiar with our software, so he emailed me asking if there was a user guide available.
My first reaction was that I had never thought of writing a guide for ListenHub because it was too simple.
In the AI community, products that are considered overly simple still seem complex and unapproachable to the general public.
So I replied to his email saying: we currently don't have a guide, but I will write one and send it to you once it's done.
I immediately opened Notion, wrote the simplest guide possible, and then sent it to this elderly man from the United States.
After he read the guide, he finally started using ListenHub.
Later, we exchanged several emails, and I gradually learned about his story.
He served in the military in 1957 and should be over 80 years old now.
Long-term pulmonary fibrosis and several strokes have robbed him of his ability to speak.
But this did not defeat him; he built an online community of tens of thousands of fellow patients.
He uses ListenHub as his voice substitute, generating podcast content with AI to share in the community and help others.
Podcasts are great, but they are just one of many ways to express oneself.
We hope our users can freely express themselves with their voices.
Thus, we decided to create a universal AI voice substitute that can read web pages, narrate novels, present PowerPoints, and even translate foreign languages.
Let your AI voice substitute speak for you anytime.
This is the origin of FlowSpeech.
In fact, there are already numerous TTS services available today. Why do we need to create our own?
At its core, spoken language and written language are two completely different forms of expression.
An article written down may not be suitable for oral presentation, and words spoken may not necessarily be suitable for writing.
For instance, papers, news reports, and AI responses are all written for people to read, not necessarily to be read aloud.
Currently, all TTS text-to-speech services on the market simply read the text according to its literal pronunciation.
It's like giving a speech; during a presentation, you should never just read from a PPT but instead express it fluently in your own words.
This is the principle behind FlowSpeech.
FlowSpeech is the world's first TTS that can convert written language into spoken language.
A TTS that speaks with a human touch.
Who is FlowSpeech suitable for?
FlowSpeech's human-like spoken expression ability makes it an ideal tool for the following groups:
Content Creators: Transform public account articles and personal knowledge bases into naturally spoken audio, saving a lot of recording and editing time. Whether for podcasts or short video voiceovers, it boosts efficiency a hundredfold.
Audiobook Enthusiasts: Convert novels, essays, and other literary works into expressive audiobooks that closely resemble human narration, providing an unparalleled listening experience.
Corporate Users: Used for creating internal training materials, product introductions, customer notifications, financial report interpretations, and other voice content, making dull content understandable in plain language for clients and employees.
App Developers: Add audio versions to their content, making it easier for the elderly and children to access information, providing greater value to users.
Educators: Transform courseware, textbooks, academic papers, and technical documents into easy-to-understand spoken explanations, making learning more efficient and immersive. Especially suitable for creating course audio and knowledge podcasts.
In simple terms, FlowSpeech is your AI voice substitute.
In any scenario that requires text-to-speech, FlowSpeech can bring a revolutionary enhancement to the experience.
How to use FlowSpeech?
Just access it directly in your browser to use it on the webpage.
iOS Download: Search for ListenHub in the App Store to download it. FlowSpeech will be available in the app next week.
Android Download: Currently under intense development and will be launched soon.
Also... Is there an API?
Many friends have asked us if the voices in ListenHub can be made into an API to integrate into their own products?
When I usually use ChatWise and Cherry Studio, I often wish our AI host could read the answers aloud, and today, it has finally become possible.
Yes, we are about to launch FlowSpeech's TTS API service, so stay tuned.
