Een van de synergiën tussen FOCIL en ePBS komt voort uit de scheiding van de beacon block en de execution payload. Met ePBS, als de execution payload niet IL-conform is, wordt alleen de execution payload opnieuw georganiseerd zonder de stabiliteit van de beacon chain te beïnvloeden.
