Solana is the natural place for all payments to go
Credibly neutral. Fast. Cheap. Battle tested. Global infra (custodians, MMs, wallets, etc) and on/off ramps (CEXs, moonpay, Bridge, etc)
My expectation is that while Tempo will have some wins, Tempo will end up pushing most payments folks to Solana

Solana News: @PayPal has designated @solana as the default blockchain network for processing transactions with its stablecoin, $PYUSD (PayPal USD).
- PYUSD basics: It's a USD-pegged stablecoin (1:1 backed by high-quality assets like USD deposits and treasuries), issued by Paxos, fully regulated.
- Original launch: Started as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum in 2023.
- Solana expansion: PayPal officially brought PYUSD to Solana in May 2024, highlighting the network's high throughput (speed) and near-zero/low transaction costs for payments.
- The new development: Solana is now the default network for PYUSD payments/transfers (e.g., in PayPal/Venmo apps or related integrations). This means transactions will prioritize Solana unless a user explicitly chooses another supported chain (like Ethereum or Arbitrum, which PYUSD also supports in 2026).
- Why it matters: This is positioned as an infrastructure-level choice for scale favoring Solana's efficiency for real-world payments over Ethereum's higher fees/slower speeds in many cases.
Note: My LQL chain comparison agent has been supporting this showing Solana being used more by large value StableCoin transactions over Ethereum 62% to 38% 7 days rolling.
