How does a project collabing with a web2 brand benefits me as a holder? I’m not getting any money out of it. Web2 collabs are bullish due to the exposure they give brands that you probably would never get otherwise. Getting a collaboration with a big web2 brand is mostly always benefitial to the IP as it gets more eyes on the brand. Pudgy on nascar and in stock exchange probably gave them exposure to a market they would’ve never otherwise have exposure to. Same way, thousands of people probably saw doodles branding on McDonald’s cups. The more recognizable an IP is. The more the brand is worth. The collectibility of your NFT comes far down the road when the IP is much more famous. Most of us threw away our old pokemon cards because we never knew the IP would be this big today and the cards would be worth this much. I personally had a collection of over 400 cards that I just gave away to my baby cousin. It was those select few fanatics that truly believed in the IP, collected the cards and always loved the brand. Those are the fanatics winning today.
