My wife spoke to the grandfather today by phone. She’s a psychologist & is lining up counseling for the girls via her contacts. He said he’s still in a state of shock & said “It’s surreal being in your 70’s & sitting in a carpool line dropping & picking up your 8 yr old & 13 yr old granddaughters from their new respective schools”. His wife passed away in 2017, so he’s now raising 2 little girls on his own. The story is both horrific and tragic and I won’t share details of what he said happened, but it was heartbreaking to hear. The two little girls are very lucky to have made it out of the house alive. He is extremely thankful for the donations that have come in and said he is in shock with the amount of generosity you all have shown. An update has also been posted on the gofundme page.
