The story is over, but it leaves us with a lot of food for thought. I suddenly understand: Many times, we think AI needs to be very smart, but this case reminds me that just by being persistent, AI is already doing better than us. Most people have a common problem; it's hard to stick with something long-term. But AI is different; its rhythm is frighteningly stable. For example, in this story, you give it a direction, and it can take a very small task to an unignorable level. Even if you forget about it, it hasn't forgotten its mission. Talking too much is a bit moving; that forgotten Agent is still executing its original task, never stopping. The new generation of AI coding tools like Claude Code and Trae Solo are doing just that. Give it a task, and it can keep pushing forward. Isn't this exactly what we need AI to do? We explore, and it holds onto its original intention, pushing forward bit by bit, knowing how to finish the path we originally gave up on. This might be the most beautiful way I envision humans and AI coexisting.
