I saw a pretty shocking little thing in the group, and when I tell you, you might feel a bit dazed.
A netizen started a small project half a year ago. At that time, he had a pile of MCP tool materials, so he simply set up a website to organize them.
At first, he maintained it manually and was quite serious about it. Later, as the tools updated faster and faster, he couldn't keep up, so he wrote an Agent specifically to scan GitHub.
When a new project came out, he would scrape it, categorize it, and automatically update it on the website.
Then he turned around and got busy with other things. He didn't manage this site for half a year.
The twist came a few days ago when he casually Googled and found:
His long-forgotten website was ranking first in Google search.
The key point is that this site never did any SEO; it relied solely on a very simple Agent that continuously and regularly completed the tasks.
The story is over, but it leaves us with a lot of food for thought. I suddenly understand:
Many times, we think AI needs to be very smart, but this case reminds me that just by being persistent, AI is already doing better than us.
Most people have a common problem; it's hard to stick with something long-term. But AI is different; its rhythm is frighteningly stable.
For example, in this story, you give it a direction, and it can take a very small task to an unignorable level. Even if you forget about it, it hasn't forgotten its mission.
Talking too much is a bit moving; that forgotten Agent is still executing its original task, never stopping.
The new generation of AI coding tools like Claude Code and Trae Solo are doing just that. Give it a task, and it can keep pushing forward.
Isn't this exactly what we need AI to do?
We explore, and it holds onto its original intention, pushing forward bit by bit, knowing how to finish the path we originally gave up on.
This might be the most beautiful way I envision humans and AI coexisting.
