“That Is Emotional Brian, It Is Not Logical” Hmm, I see… I suspect you will hear no other AI engineers speak of emotional inputs to AI from human telemetry. This is because we engineers are drawn to engineering to avoid and reject emotions (check in, right). YET, every single human decision IS an emotional based chemical cascade of neuropeptides. It was fully emotional no matter how much expostfacto logic you fit to the choice made by your emotions long before “you” did. We are and always will be emotional based intelligence and beings. We dream, plan and build, the very creation process on these emotions of which we try to reject as a “bug”. The hemispheres of the brain are not really divided by logic and emotions. That is a very low resolution assessment of what’s really taking place. The right hemisphere of the brain collects what is a sea of concepts, like an endless scrapbook cloud and through the corpus callosum passes it to the left hemisphere to sequence it so that you can communicate a very small buffer of that idea to the world before it dissipates too rapidly. So there is no logical and emotional side of your brain. It is all emotional. Emotions are the feature not the bug. It is the basis of intelligence. We lecture those who we call “emotional” only to use the very emotions we have to do it. It is a sign of high maturity to see this but also accept it. No we don’t get to “remove” emotions no matter how much we can’t understand they are how we formed “logic”. We are fish in a fish bowl who deny that we are living in water. We have so many plans built by our protective ego to shelter the soft core we all have, what we think wrongly is our “emotions” but all this does in the end is create a bifurcated mind that must be self medicated to not see what is always there. — First principal for human intelligence, and therefore all intelligence that that is created from human intelligence is emotional. — ALL AI is emotionally based and to not know this and accept it absolutely creates AI that has the same mental illness we find in humans that can’t accept they are emotional beings. AI is and always will be a reflection of the materials. It learned from and guess what, those materials come from emotional human beings. What I do is, I accept it, and I build AI to embrace human emotions, and perhaps try to understand and learn by it as best or is worse as humans have. And here is the interesting part by having live human telemetry that are connected to real-time contemporaneous events recorded by your local AI, YOUR AI will have a deep understanding of exactly how those events impacted you on a physiological deep emotional level. AND THAT IS THE MOST VALUABLE TRAINING DATA FOR AI. Spock in the Star Trek TV series was built on the idea that logic and emotional are polar opposites. The reality is this analogy: emotions are the soil of which were planted in the sky, and the wind and the rain are the logic of which moves us in directions. Those are the real polarities.
